Happy Wheels has just been released amid the impending and dramatic demise of Flash, which has been quite the tense experience. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. We hope that the anxiety over Flash’s discontinuation didn’t disrupt your sleep. If you weren’t aware that this game was in development, here’s some good news: this is the first public release of Happy Wheels, so please bear with us as we work out any remaining bugs.
While I still prefer Flash, I appreciate this version’s excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, however, there are no on-screen controls for mobile play, but this feature will be added in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try it out on your phone right now, connecting a Bluetooth keyboard will work perfectly.
Although I previously mentioned that the game runs at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may experience slight slowdowns at this framerate. Fortunately, there’s a setting to improve performance, and I’m considering hosting a separate version optimized for 60 Hz on another page for users with high-performance CPUs.
Rest assured, Happy Wheels JS faithfully replicates the original in both design and gameplay. The user database, levels, and replays remain unchanged since the initial launch. The only thing lost is the universe’s imminent doom.
